What Coffee House Press Publishes
Coffee House Press publishes literary novels, full-length short story collections, poetry, creative nonfiction, book-length essays, and essay collections. CHP does not accept submissions of anthologies or books for children or young adults.
Recent Coffee House Press titles include The Remainder by Alia Trabucco Zerán (translated by Sophie Hughes), Indecency by Justin Phillip Reed, When Death Takes Something from You Give It Back: Carl’s Book by Naja Marie Aidt (translated by Denise Newman), and Reinhardt’s Garden by Mark Haber.
Please familiarize yourself with our books to see if your work and our list are compatible. Most independent bookstores and many libraries carry our titles. You can also browse through our online catalog.
How to Submit a Manuscript
We are not currently accepting submissions. Please check back later for information on our next open reading period.
The review process for full-length manuscripts can take up to 4–6 months, or longer in some instances. We appreciate your patience when submitting your manuscript. Phone calls, emails, or letters of inquiry will not hasten the process.
